Calanais standing stones, Lewis

Calanais

will you carry me
north to south
one last earthly journey
my body spent

when the sun dips
to light the tall stones
place what remains
in the cell beneath

leave me my spear
to protect me
treasure to pay my way
food to sustain me

come the midsummer
wish me well
my soul will know
the old path

across the sky
my mortal form lost
I become stardust as you
sing this spirit home
